A RUSSIAN GILT-SILVER TEA GLASS HOLDER WITH SPOON, 1888 - Timofey Heskes, St. Petersburg, 1888. Of traditional form, finely engraved with scrolling foliate ornament and geometric borders, centered with a relief architectural cartouche depicting a peasant figure leaning out of a window framed by a gabled roof, the sides further embellished with strapwork and lattice motifs. With a squared angular handle and accompanied by an associated silver spoon with twisted stem and terminal knop. The fitted cut-glass insert features starburst and diamond facet cutting. Hallmarks: maker’s mark ”TH” 84 Russian silver standard and assayer’s mark dated 1888. Weight: Tea glass holder and spoon: 9.2 oz., 262 g. Dimensions: H: 4 3/8 in., (11.2 cm.), spoon L: 6 5/8 in., (17 cm.) Conditions: Excellent, with only light tarnishing to interior and one part of grip. Please make all inquiries before bidding.
