A SMALL RUSSIAN KOVSH BOWL WITH COLORFUL ENAMELED CLOISONNE ON GILT SILVER - Russia, late 19th to early 20th century. Of traditional boat-shaped form with a pointed prow and elongated hooked handle, the rounded body is finely decorated in polychrome cloisonné enamel with stylized flowers and scrolling foliage in shades of pink, blue, violet, green and yellow on an opaque white ground. The handle is similarly enameled with floral motifs, the borders applied with twisted silver wire. The interior is gilt. Hallmarks: maker's mark, 84 silver standard and assay marks, kokoshnik, with an additional ”875” standard mark. Weight: 1.9 o., 52 g. Dimensions: L: 3 1/4 in., (8.3 cm.) Conditions: Very good.
