A RUSSIAN SILVER SPOON WITH NIELLO ARCHITECTURAL SCENE, 1870 - The gilt oval bowl with a slender faceted stem and broad paddle-form terminal, the reverse of the bowl and both sides of the terminal engraved and nielloed with architectural views of fortified Russian complexes, framed by scrolling foliage, interlaced ornament and diaperwork; struck with the Cyrillic maker’s mark К.А, assay master’s mark В.С for Viktor Savinkov, dated 1870, 84 zolotnik standard and St. George city mark for Moscow. Weight: 1.9 oz., 52 g. Dimensions: L: 7 3/4 in., (19 cm.) Conditions: Very good. Some minor surface scratches and dark spots on the inner bowl. Please make all inquiries before bidding.
