A DAUM NANCY ENAMELED FRANCO-RUSSIAN PRESENTATION GOBLET, NANCY, FRANCE, 1893 - The broad, shallow bowl is raised on a molded baluster stem and spreading circular foot, the frosted and textured glass richly decorated in polychrome enamels and gilding. The bowl displays the black double-headed eagle of Imperial Russia, a crowned white eagle, crosses, anchors, and other heraldic and naval emblems, surrounded by scrolling bands and geometric ornament. The stem is inscribed in gilt ”Plus penser que dire” (”To think more than to say”). Signed Daum Nancy beneath the base. Dimensions: H: 4 3/8 in., (10.2 cm.)
