AN IMPERIAL RUSSIAN CUT-GLASS GOBLET FROM A BANQUET SERVICE, IMPERIAL GLASS FACTORY, ST PETERSBURG, CIRCA 1850 - The heavy colorless crystal goblet with a lobed cylindrical bowl, faceted waisted stem and scalloped circular foot cut beneath with a radiating star. The bowl centers an enamel-painted gold-foil inclusion depicting the crowned Cyrillic cypher ”AM” against an ermine mantle, heightened in red, white, black and gold. The form and decoration closely match documented Imperial Banquet Service goblets produced by the Imperial Glass Factory during the 1850s. The cypher has been associated with the service of Emperor Alexander II. Dimensions: H: 4 1/8 in., (10.5 cm.)
