A LARGE RUSSIAN PORCELAIN CHARGER FROM THE BABIGON SERVICE BY THE IMPERIAL PORCELAIN FACTORY, ST. PETERSBURG, PERIOD OF NICHOLAS I, CIRCA 1840 - Of circular form, the center decorated with a gilt and green rosette enclosed by a gilt pendant border and a broad gilt band. The rim is painted with alternating gilt anthemia and palmettes, beneath a pale pink band of green stylized floral motifs and stars, all within green and gilt borders. Marked beneath with the blue underglaze Imperial cypher Н I for Nicholas I. Dimensions: D: 13 3/4 in., (34.9 cm.) Conditions: Excellent, with no apparent chips, cracks, or restoration. A few spots.
