A RUSSIAN KORNILOV BROTHERS PORCELAIN PAN-SLAVIC KOVSH, ST. PETERSBURG, DATED 1897 - Of traditional elongated oval form with a pointed prow and tall, flat pierced handle, the center decorated with a white and gilt Imperial double-headed eagle on an orange-red ground. The eagle is enclosed by beaded and checkerboard borders and a broad gilt band painted with red and blue Pan-Slavic geometric ornament. The prow and handle are decorated with elaborate orange, white, and gilt interlaced strapwork, the rim outlined in gilt. Marked beneath with the printed Cyrillic Imperial warrant mark of the Kornilov Brothers Factory and dated 1897 in Old Church Slavonic numerals. Dimensions: L: 7 3/4 in., (19.7 cm.)
