A PAIR OF RUSSIAN IMPERIAL PORCELAIN FACTORY BISCUIT PORCELAIN CAMEOS OF EMPEROR ALEXANDER I AND FIELD MARSHAL KUTUZOV - St. Petersburg, 1912. Each circular biscuit porcelain medallion modelled in low relief with a profile portrait: Emperor Alexander I (1777–1825) wearing a laurel wreath and military uniform, and Field Marshal Prince Mikhail Illarionovich Kutuzov (1745–1813) in military dress. The reverses impressed in Cyrillic ”АЛЕКСАНДРЪ I” and ”КУТУЗОВЪ, ” respectively, each bearing the green crowned cypher of Emperor Nicholas II dated 1912; the Alexander medallion additionally impressed with a number ”3.” Mounted within matching circular gilt-metal frames, each with a dark blue silk surround, suspension ring and wood backing. Produced in commemoration of the centenary of the Patriotic War of 1812. Dimensions: D: 3 1/2 in., (8.9 cm.)
