A RUSSIAN PORCELAIN SAUCEBOAT AND STAND FROM THE BABIGON SERVICE BY THE IMPERIAL PORCELAIN FACTORY, ST. PETERSBURG, CIRCA 1823–1840 - The sauceboat of elongated oval form, with an upswept spout, gilt foot and high scrolling gilt handle terminating in moulded scrolls, the body painted with a pale pink band of green stylized flowers, buds and stars above a gilt foliate border. The conforming oval stand similarly decorated and centered by a green and gilt rosette. Unmarked. Dimensions: Dish L: 11 in., (27.9 cm.), Gravy bowl H: 6 1/2 in., (16.5 cm.) Conditions: Very good, with no apparent chips, cracks, or restoration. Some wear to gilding in a few places, largely well preserved. Please make all inquiries before bidding.
