A LOT OF THREE BERLIN (KPM) PORCELAIN PLATES FROM A SERVICE OF THE GRAND DUKE ANDREI VLADIMIROVICH OF RUSSIA - Each circular plate with a scalloped rim, the border painted with a cobalt-blue ground enclosed by iron-red and gilt bands and decorated with alternating gilt strapwork motifs and black-and-white foliate ornament. The border centered by an oval white reserve painted with the crowned Cyrillic cypher ”АВ” for Grand Duke Andrei Vladimirovich, the center left undecorated. Each marked on the reverse with the underglaze-blue KPM eagle and sceptre seal mark, together with an orange decorator's mark and impressed manufacturer's numerals. Grand Duke Andrei Vladimirovich of Russia (1879-1956) was the son of Grand Duke Vladimir Alexandrovich, a grandson of Emperor Alexander II and a first cousin of Emperor Nicholas II. The porcelain circa 1849-1870, the decoration probably circa 1900. Dimensions: D: 9 7/8 in., (25.1 cm.) Conditions: Excellent, with no apparent chips, cracks, or restoration.
