A RUSSIAN KORNILOV BROTHERS PORCELAIN PAN-SLAVIC KOVSH, ST. PETERSBURG, CIRCA 1900S - Of traditional elongated oval form with a pointed bow and tall pierced handle, the center decorated with a raised green double-headed Imperial eagle beneath a crown. The surrounding border is painted in the Pan-Slavic style with polychrome geometric ornament, stylized trees and foliage, stars, and hexagonal cartouches depicting various animals and birds, after illustrations by Ivan Bilibin. The bow and handle are decorated with green interlaced strapwork, and the rim is enriched with gilding. Marked beneath with the Kornilov Brothers Imperial warrant factory mark, printed ”J.H.V. / Made in Russia / by Kornilow Bros.”, and painted inventory or pattern number 245 in red.
