A RUSSIAN KORNILOV BROTHERS PORCELAIN PROVERB PLATE, 19TH C. - St. Petersburg, late 19th century. Of circular form, decorated in iron-red and pale yellow with a stylized Russian Imperial double-headed eagle within a geometric border. The rim is divided by interlaced ornamental motifs and inscribed in Old Russian script ”ХЛЕБЪ НАШЪ НАСУЩНЫЙ ДАЖДЬ НАМЪ ДНЕСЬ” (”Give us this day our daily bread”). The reverse has the Kornilov Brothers blue overglaze factory mark beneath the Imperial warrant. Dimensions: D: 10 5/8 in., (27 cm.)
