A LARGE AND RARE KPM BERLIN PORCELAIN FIGURE OF A RUSSIAN PEASANT - Modeled by Friedrich Elias Meyer (German, 1723–1785), circa 1875–1925. Polychrome-painted as a bearded Russian peasant holding a turkey wrapped in a white cloth. He wears a red fur-trimmed cap, a mauve coat with yellow collar and cuffs, a striped sash, wrapped leggings and woven bast shoes. Standing beside a tree stump upon a shaped naturalistic base edged in gilt. Marked beneath with the underglaze-blue KPM sceptre, iron-red orb and ”KPM, ” impressed numerals ”497” and ”6,” and additional painter’s marks. Dimensions: H: 11 3/4 in., (29.8 cm.)
