A WW1 AUSTRO-HUNGARIAN IMPERIAL KARL TROOP CROSS, 1916 - An Austro-Hungarian medal for service in World War 1, instituted by Emperor Karl 1 of Austria-Hungary toward the end of 1916. The obverse bears the Latin text 'GRATI PRINCEPS ET PATRIA, CAROLVS IMP ET REX' (A grateful prince and country, Charles, Emperor and King). The reverse shows the two crowns of Austria and Hungary, along with the text 'Vitam et Sanguinem' (With Life and Blood) alongside the year 'MDCCCCXVI' (1916). Austria-Hungary, 1916.
