ADOLF HITLER BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION POSTER, YORKVILLE CASINO, NEW YORK CITY, 1934 - A rare German-language National Socialist event poster announcing ”Adolf Hitler's Geburtstagsfeier” (Adolf Hitler's Birthday Celebration) organized by ”Freunde des Neuen Deutschland” (Friends of the New Germany) at the Yorkville Casino, 216 East 86th Street, New York City, on Sunday, April 22, 1934. Printed in black and red with a prominent swastika flag motif, the poster lists admission prices, ticket outlets, and references the publication ”Die Deutsche Zeitung.” The event was held within New York's German-American community during the early years of the Third Reich and represents a significant piece of pre-war German-American political ephemera. The Yorkville neighborhood of Manhattan served as a center of German-American cultural life during the period, and organizations sympathetic to the National Socialist government occasionally held public meetings and celebrations there before the outbreak of World War II.
