A WW2 GERMAN RETURN OF MEMEL COMMEMORATIVE MEDAL, C. 1939 - A WW2 German commemorative medal for the return of Memel from Lithuania. The obverse shows two German men waving a swastika banner and standing atop a pedestal emblazoned with the Reichsadler, while the reverse shows the text 'Zur Erinnerung an die Heimkehr des Memellandes; 22. März 1939 (In commemoration of the return of the Memel Territory; March 22, 1939). The medal, designed by Professor Richard Klein, is hung from a red, white, and green ribbon, representing the traditional colors of Lithuania Minor. Germany, c. 1939.
