A BADEN GRAND DUKE 25TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY SILVER MEDAL, CASED - Commemorative silver medal issued on the occasion of the twenty-fifth wedding anniversary of Grand Duke Friedrich I of Baden (1826–1907) and Grand Duchess Luise of Prussia (1838–1923). The obverse features conjoined bust-length profiles of the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess facing left, encircled by the inscription ”Friedrich Grossherzog von Baden” and ”Luise Grossherzogin von Baden.” The reverse displays the crowned arms of Baden and Prussia within elaborate scrolling ornament, flanking a medallion dated 1856–1881, commemorating the silver jubilee of their marriage. The surrounding inscription reads ”Ich will dich segnen und sollst ein Segen sein” (”I will bless thee, and thou shalt be a blessing”), a quotation from Genesis 12:2, with ”1. Mose 12.2” below. Marked ”990” on the edge indicating .990 fine silver. Housed in its original fitted red velvet presentation case. Dimensions: 1 3/4 x 2 1/4 in., (4.5 x 5.5 cm.) Conditions: Very fine.
