A PAIR OF INDIAN PAINTED CARVED WOOD HORSES, RAJASTHANI, 20TH CENTURY - A decorative pair of carved wooden horses depicted in a rearing posture, each with stylized proportions and expressive heads, the bodies adorned with painted harnesses and ornamental trappings in red, green, cream, and black. The surfaces are enriched with incised and painted detailing simulating saddle cloths, bridles, and ceremonial tack, reflecting folk or temple carving traditions. The form and palette are characteristic of Indian decorative carving, particularly from Rajasthan, where such figures were produced for both ritual and export markets.
