A SCHOELCHER PORCELAIN FACTORY TEA & COFFEE SET, 19TH CENTURY - Comprising a covered sugar bowl, coffee pot, milk jug, and five cups with matching saucers. Each piece of white porcelain is decorated with neoclassical gilt ornament in matte and burnished gold, featuring stylized palmette friezes and fine vertical ribbing. The interiors of cups are richly gilded. All pieces marked in red script ”Schoelcher” on the underside. This finely executed set exemplifies the high quality of porcelain produced by the Schoelcher factory in Paris during the early to mid-19th century. Founded by Marc Schoelcher, the manufactory was known for luxurious Empire and Restauration-style tablewares distinguished by opulent gilding and refined neoclassical forms.
