A SET OF SIX ENGLISH PORCELAIN PLATES, BOOTH’S, LATE 19TH CENTURY - Each of the scalloped circular forms, the center finely hand-painted with a pheasant and songbirds amidst foliage and landscape, within a wide cobalt-blue border richly decorated with raised and tooled gilt scrolls and oak leaves. The undersides with painted pattern number Y26 and additional decorator’s marks. Note: Booth’s was a prominent Staffordshire porcelain and earthenware manufacturer (est. 1891), known for richly decorated tablewares inspired by earlier Worcester and Derby services. Sets such as these reflect the Edwardian taste for vibrant, hand-painted bird subjects within elaborate gilt borders. Please make all inquiries before bidding.
