A vividly executed composition depicting a lanky male painter at his easel beneath a night sky with a crescent moon and stars. Rendered in Simon’s characteristic bold palette and linear style, the figure is shown smoking a pipe, wearing a green beret and red trousers, with a palette and brushes at hand.
