AN ABSTRACT COMPOSITION PAINTING ON PAPER, SIGNED KURTIN, LATE 20TH CENTURY - An abstract composition executed on paper and presenting a vertically oriented field of layered, gestural passages in muted and saturated tones. The surface is built through horizontal and diagonal accretions of pigment, dominated by deep purples, charcoal greys, slate blues, and ochre yellows, with areas of scraping, scumbling, and dry-brush texture that create a sense of rhythm and visual depth. The composition is non-representational, emphasizing movement, surface tension, and chromatic contrast rather than figuration. Signed to the lower right ”Kurtin”.
