AN ART DECO HAND-COLORED ETCHING BY LOUIS JUSTIN LAURENT INCART, FRANCE, CIRCA 1920–1930 - Hand-colored etching on paper depicting an elegant interior scene with two seated female figures and a child arranged on a cushioned divan, rendered in Incart’s refined Art Deco idiom combining sinuous line, theatrical composition, and delicate coloration. The figures are characterized by elongated forms, expressive gestures, and fashionable attire, evoking the intimate boudoir scenes and Belle Époque nostalgia for which Incart is known. Signed in pencil at the lower margin, Louis Justin Laurent Incart. The work is presented in its original oval ebonized and faux-tortoiseshell veneered frame with cream mat, consistent with early 20th-century French presentation practices. Condition: The sheet shows light, even age toning consistent with period paper, with scattered minor foxing and surface dust visible under close inspection. Colors remain fresh and well-preserved. The frame exhibits surface wear, abrasions, and small losses to the finish along the edges, commensurate with age. The backing is original and intact, with old nails and hanging wire present.
