A WATERCOLOR PORTRAIT OF A WOMAN, SIGNED ”DAFOYO” (?), EUROPEAN SCHOOL, MID-20TH CENTURY - Watercolor on paper depicting a contemplative female figure shown half-length, her head gently inclined and gaze directed outward, rendered with fluid, expressive line and a luminous, transparent palette. The composition is characterized by soft washes of blue, green, violet, and ochre that dissolve into one another, creating an atmospheric background punctuated by loosely suggested floral forms. The handling emphasizes mood and expression over strict delineation, with the facial features delicately modeled and the figure outlined by confident, gestural strokes. Signed to the lower right ”Dafoyo” (signature partially stylized and possibly pseudonymous).
