A SEVRES-STYLE GILT-BRONZE HAND-PAINTED CANISTER LAMP, 19TH C. - The baluster-form porcelain body is finely hand-painted with a romantic cartouche depicting a maiden in a garden on one side and a bouquet of colorful flowers on the reverse, all reserved on a cobalt blue ground with elaborate, raised, tooled gilt decoration. Mounted with richly cast gilt-bronze foliate scrollwork at the base and shoulders, including satyr mask embellishments, acanthus leaves, and rocaille ornamentation. Later fitted for electricity.
