A MARBLE FEMALE BUST ATTRIBUTED TO ELIE NADELMAN (1882–1946) - A Marble female bust attributed to Elie Nadelman (Polish-American, 1882–1946). Carved in fine white marble and mounted on a contrasting veined beige marble base, this stylized female head bears hallmark traits of Nadelman's work: smooth, idealized facial features, symmetrical form, and simplified classicism reminiscent of both ancient Greek sculpture and early modernist abstraction. The stylized treatment of the hair with delicate curls and the serene, mask-like face echo the artist’s signature fusion of archaic and modern aesthetics. Nadelman, a pivotal figure in early 20th-century sculpture, was known for his refined yet reductive forms that bridged European neoclassicism with American folk art influences.
