A VENETIAN PAINTER, 18TH CENTURY, PAIR OF GALLANT SCENES, OIL ON CANVAS - A delightful pair of Rococo compositions depicting amorous encounters set within refined architectural settings. In one painting, a young gallant takes leave of his beloved, while in the other, a lady receives an admirer’s attentions as her maid looks on with amusement. The works are painted in a soft and harmonious palette of rose, azure, and ochre tones, with graceful gestures and theatrical poses typical of Venetian genre painting of the Settecento.
