AN OIL ON PANEL PAINTING OF VIRGIN MARY WITH BABY JESUS AND JOHN THE BAPTIST, 17TH CEN. - The composition is constructed on the principle of an isosceles triangle, with the Virgin Mary in the center, the child Jesus on the left, and a kneeling John the Baptist on the right. In the background is a view of a city and distant mountains. The work is likely inspired by the paintings of Raphael. Italian school, 17th century. Please make all inquiries before bidding.
