A FRENCH LOUIS XVI STYLE SILVER JARDINIERE CENTERPIECE, 19TH CEN. - A fine silver Jardiniere centerpiece in the Louis XVI style with Romanesque columns and decoration around its body as well as pierced chain-like fencing in the voids between. The twin handles are shaped as spiraling plans and the feet are shaped as columnal bases with foliate adornment. The silver basket holds a glass bowl of a similar shape, which would have been used to hold flowers or other plants. Silver hallmarks 'FR' and another stamped mark are on the inside of the piece.
