A PARCEL-GILT RUSSIAN SILVER TEA GLASS HOLDER, CIRCA 1900

Of square section with softly rounded corners and a scrolled handle, the exterior engraved with an elegant Art Nouveau floral motif of irises and curling stems, the interior richly gilt. The design combines simplicity of form with the refined engraving characteristic of late Imperial silverwork.

Hallmarks: 84 silver standard, kokoshnik head facing right (post-1896 mark), maker’s initials В.И.П (V.I.P).
