описание:

A RUSSIAN PAN-SLAVIC STYLE ENGRAVED SILVER TEA GLASS HOLDER

Of cylindrical form on a spreading circular foot, the body finely engraved with a continuous frieze of geometric and foliate ornament in the Pan-Slavic taste, centering on a circular reserve monogrammed within a gear-shaped medallion. The upper rim is bordered with an intricate openwork lattice gallery of repeating interlaced motifs, while the base and rim are encircled by reeded bands. The angular handle rises cleanly from the lower body, complementing the architectural design.

Hallmarks: maker’s mark "АС" (Cyrillic), 84 silver standard, assay mark "ИК" for Ivan Konstantinov, Moscow, 1881 date mark, and St. George slaying the dragon Moscow town mark.

Weight: 5.6 oz. (approx. 159 g.)

Note: This fine example belongs to the Pan-Slavic or Neo-Russian movement in late-19th-century Moscow silverwork, characterized by intricate geometric ornament inspired by medieval Russian architecture and manuscript illumination. Such tea glass holders embodied the national revival spirit of the 1870s–1880s and were favored by leading Moscow workshops for domestic use and presentation.
