MOURNING BADGE WITH THE IMAGE OF LENIN. MOSCOW, 1924 - A bronze commemorative mourning badge issued after the death of Vladimir Lenin in 1924. The obverse features a black enamel silhouette profile of Lenin, flanked by the dates 1870 – 1924. Reverse with screwback fitting; the screwplate is inscribed ”VSEKOKHUDOZH / MOSCOW // KUZNETSK MOST / No. 11” (Moscow, All-Russian Cooperative of Artists, Kuznetsky Most No. 11). Material: Bronze, enamel. Weight: 3.80 g. Diameter: 20.25 mm. Struck in Moscow by the Moscow Artists’ Cooperative (Moskovskoe Tovarishchestvo Khudozhnikov). Such mourning badges were produced in limited numbers following Lenin’s death and were worn to show loyalty and respect. Please make all inquiries before bidding.
