Bidspirit auction | A PAIR OF ALABASTER FIGURAL
A PAIR OF ALABASTER FIGURAL TABLE LAMPS, 20TH CENTURY - Each modeled as a young woman in period dress, depicted holding a flower and with a tiered skirt forming the lampshade. Carved in translucent alabaster with subtle veining, the figures stand on circular bases with concealed sockets and internal wiring, fitted for electricity. Note: Alabaster figural lamps of this type were popular from the 1920s through the mid-20th century, often used as boudoir or parlor accent lighting. Their sculptural quality and warm glow when lit make them desirable both as lighting and as decorative objects. Please make all inquiries before bidding. All lots are sold ”as-is”, refer to our T&C. Helios Auctions offers in-house shipping. In case we can not accommodate a shipping request, a list of additional shippers will be provided. Dimensions: H: 10 1/2 in., (26.5 cm.) Condition: Both lamps retain working sockets and cords, though rewiring is recommended for safety. Light surface wear and natural inclusions to alabaster; one figure has a visible internal fissure along the skirt, another with small edge chips to the base. Overall, very good decorative condition.
