A GIORGIO DE CHIRICO, ITALIAN, 1888–1978, COLOR LITHOGRAPH ON PAPER, 20 C. - Signed in pencil lower right G. de Chirico, numbered lower left 9/95. The composition depicts two white horses, one mounted by a rider in orange, before a temple ruin by the sea, with scattered classical fragments in the foreground. Housed in a gilt frame with matting and under glass. Footnote: Giorgio de Chirico, founder of the Scuola Metafisica, profoundly influenced Surrealism with his enigmatic imagery of antiquity, statuary, and empty landscapes. His lithographs, particularly those revisiting classical motifs of horses and Greco-Roman temples, were produced in limited signed editions during the mid-20th century and remain highly sought after.
