AN OTTOMAN SHAMSHIR WITH DAMASCUS BLADE, 18-19TH CC. - A Turkish shamshir of characteristic form with a curved, single-edged Damascus steel blade and a grip of carved horn. The scabbard is made of two woodned scales covered in shagreen black leather with silver mounts. Ottoman Empire (Turkey), 19th century. Please make all inquiries before bidding. Scabbard retains most of its original leather. Bottom scabbard mount with oxidation and a crack.
