A GUARD SAILORS' SABER, FRANCE, FIRST EMPIRE PERIOD - Guard sailors' saber. Bronze mounting. Line-decorated oval cap, V-shaped joint bow with curved quillon ending in a ball in the extension. Shield-shaped cruiser engraved with an anchor. Wooden spindle covered with filigree leather. Curved blade with throat, counter-edge, and carp tongue. Leather-covered wooden scabbard with three brass fittings. France, First Empire period. Please make all inquiries before bidding. All lots are sold ”as-is”, refer to our T&C.
