A LOT OF THREE CARVED KRIS DAGGER HANDLES, MALAYSIA, 19TH CENTURY - A LOT OF THREE CARVED KRIS DAGGER HANDLES, MALAYSIA, 19TH CENTURY. Comprising three finely carved hilts (ukiran) from traditional Malay keris (kris) daggers. The first, in dark, deeply carved with stylized foliage and geometric motifs, and the curved pommels are surmounted with tiered leaf-like ornamentation. The second is richly decorated in relief with scrolling tendrils and blossoming flowers, exhibiting a natural age patina with traces of green mineral deposits near the base. The third, smaller in size, is of dark polished hardwood, carved with clustered circular knop motifs, possibly stylized fruit or floral forms. Each hilt displays the characteristically curved, anthropomorphic form associated with Malay kris handles, designed for both symbolic and functional grip. Please make all inquiries before bidding.
