AN ERNEST RANCOULET (1870–1915) BRONZE, 'A. TROUVILLE', C. 1900 - A finely sculpted bronze grouping by French artist Ernest Rancoulet (1870-1915) depicting two women in bathing suits playing leapfrog with each other. The piece is signed by the artist on the top of the base, with the front bearing the title 'a. Trouville'. Rancoulet was a prolific sculpture of the era, well known for his elegant depictions of women and athletes, along with mythological or literary figures.
