A SEBASTIEN TAMARI (1900-1991) 'FEMME NU', FRENCH MODERNIST BRONZE, C. 1960S, NUMBERED 3/4 - A fine bronze sculpture composed by the Azerbaijan born French artist Sebastien Tamari (1900-1991). He fled Baku in 1920, in the aftermath of the Russian Revolution, eventually arriving in Palestine where he studied at the School of Fine Arts in Jerusalem, afterwards moving to Paris, studying art under Jean Boucher and finally settling down in the city where he would perform his artistic endeavours throughout the rest of his life. The bronze is titled 'Femme Nu' meaning nude woman and, quite simply, depicts just that, however in an elongated and stylized form. The piece is signed by the artist to the base and numbered '3/4'.
