A SOVIET RUSSIAN PORCELAIN FIGURE OF ANNA AKHMATOVA - After the model by Natalia Yakovlevna Danko (1893 - 1942), a porcelain figurine modeled in the Art Deco style, and depicting the poet Anna Akhmatova wearing a black cap, orange and black pattern shawl draped over one shoulder and a grey dress, the base is painted with a single rose. Designed in 1924. Marks: (Artist Danko) and [Anna Akhmatova] in grey overglaze. Illustrated in N. Lobanov-Rostovsky. Revolutionary Ceramics Soviet Porcelain 1917-1927, London 1990, p93 #88.
