A BRONZE SCULPTURE BY NAUM ARANSON, THE BUST OF LEO TOLSTOY, 1902 - Naum Aronson, a bronze bust of Russian wrier Leo Tolstoy (1828-1910) on a green marble base. Signed. Naum Aronson (1872-1943) was a Russian-born sculptor who worked mainly in France. He studied art at the Vilna Art School before moving to Paris where he would live and work for the next 50 years. Aronson is known principally for his busts of well-known people, including Ludwig van Beethoven, Louis Pasteur, Leo Tolstoy, Grigori Rasputin and Vladimir Lenin.
