A SILVER-MOUNTED CAUCASIAN SHASHKA SWORD WITH SCABBARD, 19TH CENTURY - A well-crafted Caucasian shashka sword which has been fitted with silver and niello mounts on the handle and scabbard, all stamped with the Imperial Russian 84 silver standard mark. The long, curved blade is engraved on each side with the symbol of a moon with a face, surrounded by stars. The silver mounted scabbard is also lined with black leather in the typical Caucasian style. Caucasus, 19th century. Please make all inquiries before bidding.
