AN EXTREMELY RARE RUSSIAN IMPERIAL ARMY REGIMENTAL BANNER, CA. 1900 - Based on the coloring, it is probably the banner of one of the Tersk Cossack Army Regiments. On April 21, 1900 a new pattern of regimental banners of the Russian Imperial Army was established. The cloth of the banner became solidly woven (which provided greater strength and durability), consisting of two parts, covering the underside of each other. On the front side of the banner was placed the image of the icon of Christ ”Savior of the Uncrowned”, the border of the icon repeated in color the border of the banner. In the upper part of the rim was the motto ”WITH GOD”. On the reverse side of the banner was the monogram of Nicholas I. The unification of the banners was caused by the fact that the only factory that fulfilled the state order for the manufacture of banners - the factory of the partnership A. and V. Sapozhnikov in Moscow - was the only factory. Sapozhnikov Factory in Moscow could not cope with the volume of orders. The sample of 1900 banners became easier to produce, as the banners were made entirely woven, with a woven icon of the Savior of the Unwoven (instead of icons of regimental celebrations, which every time had to be approved). In the period from 1900 to 1914, 246 banners of the new pattern were granted. After 1917, when the imperial monogram became an undesirable symbol, it is probable that the reverse side of the banner was torn off, and the obverse side was kept and probably continued to be used. В период с 1900 по 1914 года было пожаловано 246 знамен нового образца. После 1917 года, когда императорский вензель стал нежелательным символом, вероятно, полотно оборотной стороны знамени было отпорото, а полотно лицевой стороны сохранено и, возможно, продолжало использоваться.
