A PERSIAN MINIATURE, NOBLES PLAYING CHOVGAN (POLO), GILT AND FRAMED

A framed Persian miniature depicting noblemen playing a game of chovgan (polo). The piece is painted on a rectangular panel and set on a paper backing which has also been painted with a colorful rectangular border with floral designs and gilt trim. The frame is decorated with khatam marquetry throughout. The piece is signed at the bottom and the lower right in Latin script and Farsi.

Condition: Very good overall with little to no wear to the miniature. Slight yellowing of paper consistent with age. Backing of frame slightly loose, just needs one small pin.
