AN INDIAN MINIATURE MIXED MEDIA COMPANY STYLE PAINTING ON PAPER, 19TH CEN.
An Indian Company style painting depicting a well-dressed man holding a blue parasol. The Company style of painting originated in 18th century British India and was a hybrid of Indian and European design sensibilities. The style received its name because of its typical patrons, usually foreign agents of the East India Company or other foreign companies.
