A RARE RUSSIAN ICON OF ST. VLADIMIR IN GILT-SILVER OKLAD BY VLADIMIROV - The frame (oklad) is executed in thick, finely engraved gilt silver by the important firm of Vladimirov. The piece is stamped with the workmaster's initials 'ED' as well as the 84 silver kokoshnik proof mark. St. Vladimir is masterfully depicted here with a cross in his clasped hands and a gentle glow emanating from the halo behind his head. Russia, c. 1910. Dimensions: 7 1/8 x 5 1/2 in., (18 x 13 cm.)
