A LARGE GILT-SILVER TURKMEN NECKLACE WITH BELLS, 19TH C. - A necklace in the traditional Turkmen style, with a large pendant in the shape of a rounded arrowhead beset with polished red-orange stones and decorated with applied gilt-silver and fine silver wire and beadwork. The chain is comprised of 17 discs decorated with repousse florets, interspersed with rings and what appear to be stylized leaves. There is a secondary chain strung near the pendant from which hang 3 bells. Turkic World, 19th Century. Weight: 8.5 oz. (242 g.) Dimensions: L: 17 3/4 in., (45.1 cm.)
