A HENRI LEYS (1815-1869) OIL ON WOOD PAINTING, BROOKLYN MUSEUM PROVENANCE - An oil on board painting titled 'Charity' by Belgian painter Henri Leys (1815-1869). This piece is signed at the lower left and lower right with his initial 'H' signature. The verso is affixed with an old label from the Brooklyn Museum indicating that this piece was given to them as part of the bequest of famed American art collector William H. Herriman in June of 1921. Also on the back is a small red wax label which is partially legible and appears to be French. Belgium, 19th Century. Please make all inquiries before bidding.
