A RUSSIAN CUT-GLASS AND SILVER-MOUNTED INKWELL BY FABERGE
A cut-glass inkwell with silver mounts was manufactured at Faberge's Moscow branch. The body and silver base are hexagonal with a laurel border between the two pieces and decorative flaming urn brackets on each side of the body. The piece is topped with a hinged domed silver cover, inset with a silver ruble coin stamped with the image of Empress Elizabeth I. In the interior of the cover and underside of the coin is the image of the double-headed eagle dated 1755. Russian '84' silver marking on both the cover and base. Imperial Warrant (double-headed eagle) above "K. Faberge" in Cyrillic on the base.
