A FRENCH BRONZE FIGURE OF A TARTARE WARRIOR BY ANTOINE-LOUIS BARYE - Antoine-Louis Barye, a bronze sculpture of a standing Madchu Tartar warrior. The title in French is visible on the plaque at the front of the base. Signed 'Barye'. Antoine-Louis Barye (1796-1875) was a French sculptor and founder of the French Animaliers School. His animalistic bronzes were highly acclaimed, and Barye himself was considered one of the best sculptors of his time woking with bronze castings. Please make all inquiries before bidding.
